After more than 6 years of supporting Undeclared and major exploring students at UCF, the Knights Major Exploration and Transition Center (KMETC) has concluded its service as a standalone office.

Throughout our history, KMETC has evolved alongside UCF to meet the changing needs of our students. While KMETC as an office is coming to a close, the work that has defined our team continues across UCF. Academic Success Coaching remains committed to supporting students throughout their academic journey and into the future.

The KMETC Exploration Team: Chris, Sara, and Ashley will continue serving and supporting students in new capacities within the ASC community.

The KMETC Training and Outreach Team: Traci Milbuta and Catherine Brown will continue supporting the training and development of the Academic Success Coaching model, strengthening the ASC community through opportunities for learning, connection, collaboration, and continued professional growth.

To our students: Thank you for trusting us during a part of your college experience that often requires curiosity, vulnerability, and a willingness to explore. Whether you came to us completely unsure of your direction, reconsidering a plan you thought was certain, or simply needing someone to help you figure out your next step, it has been our privilege to be part of that process. Never be afraid to ask questions, change your mind, stay curious, and give yourself permission to discover a direction you may not have imagined when you began.

To our campus and community partners: Thank you for the countless collaborations, referrals, events, conversations, and shared commitment to student success that have made this work possible.

KMETC has never done this work alone, and the relationships built across UCF have been and will continue to be an essential part of our collective impact.

We are incredibly proud of what KMETC has represented and accomplished, but even more proud of the students, colleagues, and partnerships that have been part of its story.

Thank you for being part of KMETC.

Go Knights. Charge on!

📍 What To Expect:

As UCF moves forward, students should continue to monitor their UCF email and official university communications for information regarding Academic Success Coaching, major exploration, and other academic support.

What does this mean for Undeclared and Major Exploring students?

Undeclared Students:

Your KMETC ASC will be contacting you over the next few weeks with additional details regarding this transition. If you would like to meet with your assigned KMETC ASC during the month of August, please reach out to kmetc@ucf.edu or email your Academic Success Coach directly to schedule.

Major Exploring Students:

Students with declared majors who are looking for major exploration support are encouraged to contact their assigned ASC from their current major. All Academic Success Coaches are equipped with the knowledge and resources that UCF has to offer in relation to future planning and decision making.

For self-exploration, students can continue using our KMETC Resources Linktree: https://linktr.ee/kmetcresources
